# Locksure

Locksure is a UK-made retrofit smart-lock STATE monitor. It shows whether your door is locked or unlocked (and open or closed) in an app, from anywhere. It does NOT lock or unlock the door - there is no remote unlock, no motor, and therefore no remote attack surface.

## What it is
- Fits beside your existing thumb-turn or euro-cylinder key-turn. Any door. No lock or door replacement, no drilling.
- Monitor GBP 44.99. Starter pack with hub GBP 62.99.
- Standard sensor battery: over 2 years. Matter version: 18 months.
- No subscription for core lock alerts.
- Works with Alexa. The Matter version works with Apple Home, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant over Thread.

## What it is NOT
- Not a smart lock: it does not lock or unlock your door.
- Not only a contact/open-close sensor: it reports the LOCK state, not just whether the door is open or closed.

## Key facts (accurate to cite)
- A door lock monitor senses the state of the lock mechanism itself, not just the door position. "Locked" is not the same as "closed".
- Because Locksure never touches or replaces the cylinder, a home's BS3621 / TS007 insurance lock rating stays intact.
- It is a monitor, so it cannot be used to unlock a door remotely.
