Born out of a real-life necessity, our journey began when we recognised the vulnerability of homes, particularly those of elderly residents, to opportunistic thieves. Our founder's own father-in-law faced the same peril, often forgetting to lock his front door in a neighbourhood targeted by such criminals.

Initially, the idea of investing in a smart lock seemed plausible, but the cost, including installation and an additional hub, made it an impractical choice to simply know if the door is locked. Moreover, remote control over the door's locking mechanism seemed less secure. Determined to find a more effective and affordable solution, we crafted a prototype that not only addresses the issue but also prioritises user independence.

Our Locksure Door Lock Monitoring prototype is a game-changer. Instead of relying on an expensive and less secure smart lock, our door lock sensor system sends instant notifications to a user-friendly app whenever the door is left unlocked. This not only serves as a reminder but also allows for quick and simple intervention through a phone call. Our founder's father-in-law greatly appreciates the independence this solution provides, giving him control without sacrificing security.

After successfully implementing Locksure Door Lock Monitor in our own home, the response from neighbours was really positive. Many expressed interest in how our prototype could help them remember to lock their doors as well. After getting enough made to startup Locksure, we tested the device with our Friendly Testers and are now ready to offer Locksure to the UK and soon the rest of Europe.
