Does SwitchBot tell you if your door is locked?
Yes - the SwitchBot Lock and Lock Pro report lock status (and door open/closed) in the SwitchBot app, with reminders if you forget to lock. They do this because they are motorised retrofit smart locks: a powered unit clamps over your thumb-turn and physically turns it. That is a genuinely good product if you want keyless entry and auto-lock. If all you want is to know the state of the lock you already use, a motor is more hardware, more battery and more cost than the job needs - and it must physically fit your particular thumb-turn.
Locksure monitors your lock - it shows locked or unlocked. It does not lock or unlock the door.

Do I need a motorised lock just to get locked/unlocked alerts?
No. A monitor-only device such as Locksure senses the lock position without actuating anything, which typically means simpler fitting, longer battery life and a lower price.
Can SwitchBot and Locksure both work with Matter?
