The Locksure app: setup, notifications and history

The app is free and there is no subscription. It shows each door’s last reported state and when it changed, keeps a history, sends notifications you choose, and lets you share a door with someone else.

Install and sign in

1. Download Locksure from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
2. Create an account with your email address, or sign in if you already have one.
3. Allow notifications when asked. You can turn them down later; you cannot get alerts without them.
4. Allow Bluetooth when asked. It is used to set up a hub, not to read the door.

Add your Locksure

• Original range: tap +, choose Locksure Hub, then Locksure Hub (non-Matter), and follow Display Hub setup and Wi-Fi. Doors you add to the hub appear in the app.
• Matter range, iPhone: tap +, choose Lock Sensor and follow the steps. The app pairs the sensor through Apple Home for you and reads it from there.
• Matter range, Android: pair the sensor in Google Home first, then return to the Locksure app within a few minutes and tap Continue to finish.
• Locksure Matter Hub: tap +, choose Locksure Hub, then MatterHub, and follow the Matter Hub guide.

What the door tile shows

Cyan for locked, amber for unlocked, with the time of the last change. You can pick your own colours for each state (Door colours), and the Display Hub follows them. With the Matter Open/Close magnet you also see Open or Closed. Tap the tile for history and settings, and use its Edit button to rename the door.

Notifications

In Settings, Enable Notifications switches them on or off. When they are on, you get a notification each time a door is reported locked or unlocked. Nobody is nagged unless you ask for it.

Left-home alert

Optional and off by default. Set your home location and a radius; if you leave that area while a door is reported unlocked, the app sends a reminder. It uses your phone’s own location monitoring, so it needs background location permission. Your location is checked on the phone and is never sent to Locksure or stored. On Android, turn off battery optimisation for Locksure and allow notifications through Do Not Disturb, or the alert can be delayed. For the Matter range this needs the Locksure Matter Hub.

History

Each door keeps a list of lock and unlock events (and open and close with the magnet) with times. It records what the lock did, not who did it. You can clear your history from Settings (Clear Notification History). For Matter sensors without a Locksure Matter Hub, history is limited to what your phone has read; the Matter Hub keeps a longer record.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings and choose Delete Account. This removes your account, doors, notifications and history from our systems. Order records are kept separately for six years because HMRC requires it. See Privacy and security.

Common questions

• The tile has not changed but the monitor flashed. See App not updating.
• Does everyone in the house need the app? No. The hub in the hall needs nothing. Anyone who wants to check from a phone can be given access by sharing.
• Does it work away from home? Yes. The app shows the last state the hub sent, from anywhere with a connection.
